What Are You Thirsting For?

What Mystery Do You Seek?

Text Box: Prayer is the cornerstone of our life – our reason for being.  Each day is lived around the Liturgy of the Hours, the Eucharist, and hours of solitary prayer.

Prayer is nothing else than an intimate sharing between friends.
                                                                                                                                                                                      St. Teresa of
Avila

For me prayer is an  aspiration of the heart,
it is a simple glance directed to heaven …
            and unites me to Jesus.

Come share in the life of the Carmelite Sisters of Baltimore

Founded in 1790, we are the first community of religious women to be established in the original thirteen states.

We have dedicated ourselves to bringing the Carmelite life and tradition, rich and vibrant, new and contemporary, into the 21st century

It is our desire to be so profoundly united with Christ, through contemplation, that we become likewise united with all God’s people and with all creation, in the deepest, most authentic solidarity – hungering with them, hurting with them, standing with them, knowing that they are us and we are them.

Text Box: A previous participant said:
I have caught something of the Spirit of Carmel and whatever decisions I make, this has been a weekend of encouragement, support, understanding, and re-commitment.
