Sr. Mary Eileen’s 100th Birthday

Written by Sister Judith of God, February 5, 2020, Sister Speaks

Sister Judith of God

On January 10, 2020 Sr. Mary Eileen celebrated her 100th Birthday.  Surrounded by her family and our community we had a beautiful liturgy and party to celebrate.

Good Morning and Welcome on this magnificent day when we gather to celebrate the 100th Birthday of our dear Sr. Mary Eileen.  To use a phrase our birthday girl might say, it is an auspicious day.

We are delighted to have the McNamara family – who is a treasured part of our Carmelite family –  OCDS members, and Mary Eileen’s friends with us today.

There are no words I can say that adequately express the joy and all of the emotions of this day.  Fortunately, Storia Studio has created a video celebrating Mary Eileen’s life, who she has been for our community and for your family over her 78 years in Carmel.  So let me start this day of celebration by proclaiming, This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!

Happy 100th Birthday, Sr. Mary Eileen!
